Matrimony unites a man and woman, giving each the grace to love one another and to nurture children in our shared Catholic traditions. According to the Council of Trent: "The grace of the sacrament perfects the human love of the spouses, strengthens the indissoluble unity, and sanctifies them on the way to eternal life."
Those wishing to get married need to contact the church office at least six months prior to their anticipated wedding date. Couples are required to meet with the priest or deacon on a regular basis, participate in a marriage preparation program, attend an introductory Natural Family Planning session, and complete either a FOCCUS or PREPARE assessment.
Being a registered parishioner for at least 6 months and regularly participate in the Sunday Eucharist is expected. Couples are highly discouraged from making any wedding plans until after their first meeting with the priest or deacon.
