Let’s Get To Know Fr. Alberto! 

Fr. Alberto is our new parochial vicar who just joined St. Albert the Great. We asked him some questions to get to know him.  If you haven’t met him yet, please welcome him after Mass!

Where were you born, and where did you grow up?

• I was born and raised in Cerano, Guanajuato, Mexico.

When and where did you get ordained?

• I was ordained a priest on October 28, 1994,  in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.

Who is your favorite saint? 

• My favorite saint is St. Ignatius of Loyola. 

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

• In my free time, I like reading and listening to music.

What is one thing that people might be surprised to learn about you?

• I entered the seminary when I was 12. 

What is your favorite food?

• A tortilla soup and a grilled steak or salmon. For dessert, vanilla ice cream and cheesecake. 

What is your impression of Austin?

• It’s a big city!

• Let’s continue walking together in faith, hope, and love for God and our neighbors.

El P. Alberto es nuestro nuevo vicario parroquial, que acaba de incorporarse a San Alberto Magno. Le hicimos algunas preguntas para conocerlo.  Si aún no lo conoces, ¡dale la bienvenida después de la misa!

¿Dónde nació y creció?

• Nací y crecí en Cerano, Guanajuato, México hasta los 12 años. 

¿Cuándo y dónde te ordenaste?

• Me ordené sacradote en Cuernavaca, Morelos, el día 28 de octubre de 1994. 

¿Cuál es su santo favorito? 

• Mi santo favorito es San Ignacio de Loyola. 

¿Qué le gusta hacer en su tiempo libre?

• En mi tiempo libre, me gusta leer y escuchar música.

¿Qué es lo que a la gente le sorprendería saber de usted?

• Que entré al seminario a los 12 años. 

¿Cuál es su comida favorita?

• Una sopa de tortilla, filete a la parrilla o salmón, y de postre helado de vanilla y cheesecake. 

¿Cuál es su impresión de Austin?

• Es una ciudad muy grande. 

¿Algún mensaje para los feligreses de San Alberto Magno? 

• Que sigamos caminando unidos en la fe, la esperanza y amor a Dios y al prójimo.
