St. Albert is participating in the annual #iGiveCatholic Giving Day. Tuesday, November 27 is known as a global day devoted to online giving. We will celebrate this day of giving by honoring our Catholic faith.
New hymnals
Our RitualSong hymnals have served us well for many years. But many of you will recall how, in 2011, we learned a new translation of the Mass. And you may not know it, but the tranlations of the Psalms have changed too. That means that our hymnals are outdated. We cannot use any of the musical settings of the mass from our hymnal because they use the old tranlation. And the words of the psalms don't match what the cantors sing, either!
RitualSong Second Edition
GIA Publications has released an updated version of our hymnal, called RitualSong II. This updated hymnal is greatly expanded. Included are numerous mass settings using the new translation, an updated psalter, and a greatly expanded selection of hymns from across the ages – including many familiar titles not found in our hold hymnal. These new hymnals will help us sing praise to the Lord for years to come.
How you can help
#iGiveCatholic will take place on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Our goal is to raise funds for 900 pew hymnals ($25 each), 40 choir hymnals ($40 each), and three sets of accompaniment books ($120 each). Hymnals given to the glory of God can be inscribed with a dedication. #iGiveCatholic is done online – visit https://austin.igivecatholic.org/ on Tuesday, November 27 to give.
