Our new parochial vicar, Fr. Rito Davila, has arrived and is in the process of getting to know this parish. He comes to us with 17 years of experience as a priest. He was ordained a priest on July 2nd, 2005. His most recent assignment was at St. Anthony in Kyle. He has served in a number of parishes in the Austin Diocese and those are Cristo Rey in Austin, Santa Cruz in Buda, Emmaus in Lakeway, St. Anthony in Kyle and Ascension in Bastrop. He also served in a parish in the Bronx, New York for a few years.
A few interesting facts about him include the following: He is one of 10 children. He is originally from Nicaragua. While in New York he completed a Master’s degree in theology. He did that both because he wanted a stronger grounding in theology and because he wanted the challenge of completing a graduate degree in English.
Please join me in welcoming Fr. Rito,
Fr. Charlie
